Our Purpose

In 1973 the Upper Minnesota Valley Regional Development Commission (UMVRDC) was organized by local elected officials as authorized by the Regional Development Act of 1969.




Mission Statement

"Enable the region to thrive through assisting local governments."



Goals

1.) Take a leadership role in fostering regional cooperation and coordination among local units of government and other area entities.

2.) Aid local units of government in obtaining, retaining and sustaining programs necessary for rural survival.

3.) Promote ongoing shared planning among all local units of government.

4.) Develop the UMVRDC's reputation as the region's central point of access for information and assistance.

5.) Fully develop the knowledge and expertise of commissioners and staff.
